Loq-kit Interchangeable House Parts - Original Version
As originally conceived, connections between parts were based on jointing between rigid galvanized metal connectors and ductile plastic extrusions. The flexible plastic extrusions enabled parts to be press-fitted together (snap-lock).
The connection strategy above has been superceded in favor of flexible mechanical connections that enable the fit between parts to be adjusted with shims and seals for a ready-made, yet custom, fit.
The parts shown were modeled in Pro Engineer Wildfire where material properties could be assigned to the components.
